A doomsday cult walked into the US Capitol, the European Parliament, and the Vatican. It was selling climate denial.
The laundering mechanism
AllatRa is the laundering mechanism. It takes a message that would look absurd coming from an oil-company flack and wraps it in prophecy, humanitarian concern, and spiritual authority. The delivery becomes respectable. The disinformation stays the same.
The group emerged in Ukraine and now operates from the United States. Its literature blends esoteric spirituality with ancient civilizations and cosmic catastrophes. In 2019 it established Creative Society, an international activist group that denies human-caused climate change. Creative Society is run by AllatRa members. Its vice-president is AllatRa’s president. Its president is an AllatRa member. They are the same organization in different hats.
AllatRa’s main English-language TikTok account has nearly 100,000 followers. Its network of volunteer accounts, “history” channels, and Spanish and German pages has around three million likes. The content is pseudo-scientific: climate change is caused by cosmic cycles, not carbon emissions, and the scientific establishment is hiding the truth.
The access
The access is the point. Since 2024, AllatRa has been welcomed into the US Capitol, the European Parliament, the US Congress, UN meetings, and the Vatican. At a European conference co-hosted with Czech MEP Ondřej Knotek, the network called the climate-fossil-fuel interpretation an “ideological framework” that should be questioned. This is climate denial delivered inside the institutions that are supposed to be acting on it.
The spiritual shield
AllatRa does not present itself as a denial organization. It presents itself as a humanitarian and scientific movement concerned with the future of humanity. The climate denial is embedded in a larger narrative about cosmic catastrophes, spiritual evolution, and the need for global unity. The cult’s spiritual framing gives the disinformation a moral authority that a corporate press release cannot match.
The alignment
The organization also benefits from the broader ecosystem of climate disinformation. Its message aligns with the interests of fossil-fuel states and far-right movements that oppose climate policy. AllatRa does not need to coordinate with these actors. It needs to produce content that serves their purposes, and the alignment of interests does the rest. Scientists have dismissed the organization’s claims as pseudoscience. The claims continue to spread because they are useful to people who need them to spread.
Verdict: False. The packaging is the product. AllatRa uses spiritual language to launder fossil-fuel-aligned climate denial into parliaments, UN meetings, and the Vatican. The people who benefit are the fossil-fuel interests and far-right movements that need climate policy to fail. The saint is the new lobbyist.
